Rapid COVID-19 Antigen test

Starting from today, August 13th, a Rapid COVID-19 antigen test is available in Avicena Laboratory.

Clinitest Rapid COVID-19 antigen test (Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics), detects the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigen. This antigen is generally detectable in upper respiratory specimens during the acute phase of infection

The test is intended to aid in the rapid diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infections and can be used by healthcare professionals up to ten days post symptom onset, or to screen asymptomatic individuals or individuals from areas of low infection prevalence.

The test is listed in ” The common list of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests, including those of which their test results are mutually recognized, and a common standardized set of data to be included in COVID-19 test result certificates” prepared by European Commission and approved for travel, depending on the destination-country and its resultatives.

The test can be done every day in the laboratory in Taftalidze, scheduling an appointment is not needed.
