BabyТest Plus/Advanced

The most complete non-invasive prenatal screening test for the detection of chromosomal disorders by analyzing the DNA of the fetus through the maternal blood

What is Babytest Plus/Advanced?

BABYTEST Plus/Advanced is a non-invasive screening test which purpose is to detect fetal aneuploidies. It is carried out using a blood sample from the pregnant woman that contains a fraction of fetal DNA in the plasma. This fetal DNA content can be analyzed after the tenth week of gestation.

Our DNA carries all the genetic information needed for good health and proper development. It exists in the form of 23 pairs of chromosomes in our cells. During pregnancy, chromosomal abnormalities may occur and affect the development and health of the baby.

During pregnancy, small amounts of DNA from the baby cross into the maternal bloodstream. The new technology allows isolation of this DNA and complete genomic sequencing, which provides information on possible chromosomal abnormalities.

Safe and accurate test, without any risk to the mother and the fetus!

Conventional prenatal testing for fetal chromosomal abnormalities involves testing a sample of chorionic spasms or amniocentesis. These procedures are highly invasive with increased risk for the mother and the child.

Avicena Laboratory provides non-invasive prenatal testing that offers rapid and accurate detection of the most common chromosomal abnormalities.

The BABYTEST Plus/Advanced test is performed through a single blood sample from the mother and offers a combination of the latest massive parallel sequencing technology, combined with a detailed medical report.

What chromosomal disorders can be detected by BabyTest Plus/Advanced?

►    Trisomy 21 associated with Down’s syndrome.

►    Trisomy 18 associated with Edwards’ syndrome.

►    Trisomy 13 associated with Patau syndrome.

►    Trisomies for chromosomes 16 and 22, most often associated with spontaneous abortion, as well as other less common types of aneuploidy such as those of chromosomes 9 and 15.

►    Sex chromosome aneuploidies:

·         Turner syndrome (presence of a single X sex chromosome),

·         Klinefelter syndrome (XXY),

·         Triple X syndrome and

·         Polysomy X.

BabyТest Plus/Advanced is the most complete non-invasive test on the market that analyzes all 24 chromosomes from human karyotype. The only test that provides results for trisomy of chromosomes 16 and 22, commonly associated with spontaneous abortions.

What do SG BabyTest results mean?

Low risk ↓

Very low probability of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy in any of the analysed chromosomes.

High risk ↑

High probability of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy in the indicated chromosome.

Why BabyTest?
