PHI Avicena Laboratory acquired the international Accreditation Certificate for quality and competency of medical laboratories, in accordance with the MKC EN ISO 15189:2013 standard
PHI Avicena Laboratory is one of the first laboratories in the region to acquire the Accreditation Certificate for quality and competency of medical laboratories, in accordance with the MKC EN ISO 15189:2013 standard.
The accreditation of the specialist diagnostic laboratory was implemented by the Institute for accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia, a member of ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) and IAF (International Accreditation Forum) by the International Committee.
This represents one more tool for objective assessment and additional control and safety in the precision of the processed analyses and issued results. One more time, PHI Avicena Laboratory established that it meets the requirements by the national, European and international standards, as well as all additional requirements essential for performing the delicate laboratory work.
PHI Avicena Laboratory is part of the EQAS ( External Quality Assurance Services) program for regular monthly external control.
PHI Avicena Laboratory has established a System for quality maintenance with which it is confirmed that all obligatory and worldwide accepted standards in the laboratory medicine are met.
There is a daily routine regular internal control performed on all automated laboratory systems. Furthermore, the laboratory is part of several programs for regular external quality control of medical laboratories, throughout the whole year, according to strictly and precisely established time intervals by several foreign institutions:
– INSTAND e.V Germany for microbiological analyses, such as: complete bacteriology with identification and sensitiveness, parasitology, mycology, serology and interpretation of results and UK NEQAS Microbiology (United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Service), for additional bacteriological analyses with identification, sensitiveness and interpretation of results.
– INSTAND e.V Germany, for additional control and safety in the precision of the performed analyses and issued results from the field of biochemistry, immunology, hematology, cytology, hemostasis, ionometry.
The programs for external control of procedures and performances of a laboratory are accepted worldwide as an essential tool for objective assessment.
Thus, the additional control is applied on safety in the precision of the performed analyses and issued results.
As leaders in the creation of systems for external control, the NEQAS programs are accredited in order to meet all obligatory standards for one clinical laboratory.
