Avicena Laboratory received a Certificate of Appreciation for the project “We contribute and we care” donation of 5000 PCR laboratory analyzes for COVID-19

As part of the National Award for Best Socially Responsible Practices organized by the Ministry of Economy, Avicena Laboratory received a Certificate of Appreciation for the project “We contribute, we care” donation of 5000 PCR laboratory tests for COVID-19 in the category “Community Investment”.

With this project implemented by our laboratory, a total of 5,000 citizens from April 2020 to January 2021, had the opportunity to perform free RT Real-Time PCR tests for COVID-19 at the Idadia Polyclinic, entirely at the expense of Avicena Laboratory. Each patient underwent a high-precision molecular RealTime-PCR test. This test is CE-IVD certified, validated for fully automated use and performs simultaneous screening and confirmation, including internal control, in accordance with WHO, US-CDC and Ch-CDC standards.

This type of assistance and support enabled us to deal more quickly and successfully with the emerging situation with the SARS-COV-2 virus, to increase the capacity of available appointments for COVID-19 tests which were currently in limited numbers. This donation provided assistance and support to the health system, the citizens and the entire community, intended for faster and more successful coping with the pandemic.
